German Shepherd History
The breed was founded in 1899 by Max von Stephanitz, who set out to build not a look but a working animal — a dog capable of real, demanding labor, judged on structure, nerve, and drive above all else.
Over the last century, the breed split in two. Most German Shepherds today, especially American show lines, have been bred toward a certain gait and silhouette, softening the very drive and nerve von Stephanitz prized. The European working lines we breed and import trace instead to dogs proven on the East German and Czech borders during the Cold War — selected under real pressure, for real capability. That is the lineage behind every dog that carries our name.
Meet The Breeder/Trainer & Family
Dean & Dusty Norbeck run & own My K9 Guardian. They are the head of the program. Raising & training working dogs for over 10 years now. Both Dean & Dusty served in the military in their younger days. They now raise their family with the working dogs. This gives the dogs & puppies great exposure to family life.
Dusty and Dean have worked together since the beginning of their marriage and hold incredibly high standards for everything they do. When purchasing a dog from My K9 Guardian you are to be sure to get the BEST service.
